Yasmene Nickole Herrera

July 2, 2004 — March 15, 2026

Yasmene Nickole Herrera, 21, of Kansas City, Missouri, lost her life on Sunday, March 16, 2026. Yasmene graduated from The Jacobs Center in 2023 and also attended Northeast High School. She had a deep love for animals—especially cats and her baby Chuey—and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Born on July 2, 2004, in Kansas City, Missouri, Yasmene arrived two years before her brother Anthony, with whom she shared both a birthday and a special, lifelong bond with. She was the beloved daughter of Alicia Herrera‑Aquino and Michael Pacheco. Yasmene was a beautiful, God‑fearing soul whose presence filled every room with love. She will always be remembered for her loud, joyful laugh and the warmth she shared so freely with others. Family meant everything to her, and she looked forward to becoming a mother and showering her son with all the love in her heart. Just weeks before her passing, Yasmene welcomed her precious baby boy, Nicholas, into the world. Becoming a mother was one of her greatest joys, and her love will continue to live on through him. Yasmene is survived by her mother, Alicia Herrera‑Aquino (Vincent Aquino); her father, Michael Pacheco; and her siblings: Michael Pacheco JR (Johnnie Pacheco), Andres Gutierrez (April Paulino), Alexis Ortiz (Charlie Ortiz), Mariah Gutierrez, Michelle Hernandez, Christopher Hernandez II, Riley Stone (Bram Stone), Anthony Pacheco, Jaime Valdez, Julian Valdez, Santino Pacheco, Vincent Pacheco, Carmine Pacheco, Valentino Pacheco, and Aaliyah Aquino. She is also survived by her beloved son, Nicholas Junior Campos. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Priscilla Pacheco and Anthony Pacheco, as well as Timothy Manuel Herrera, her living grandmother Rita Aguirre and her great grandmother Carmen Capatillo. Yasmene was deeply loved by her many aunts and uncles, including Christina Moreno (Martin Moreno), Anthony Castilleja (Joanne Castilleja), Richard Pacheco, Vincent Pacheco (preceded in death by Maggie Ramero), Paul Briones JR (Debbie Briones), Gabriel Herrera, Jesse Enriquez JR, John Michael Whitman, Joseph Manuel Herrera, Nicole Renee Herrera and her late uncle Eddy Briones. She will be deeply missed by all her cousins, nieces and nephew. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to help with funeral expenses and to support Nicholas as he grows, surrounded by family who will always love and care for him.
