Alexzander David Richardson-Diaz

November 9, 2006 – April 5, 2026

Alexzander David Richardson-Diaz, lovingly known as “Alex,” passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2026. Born on November 9, 2006, on Kansas City’s West Side, Alex entered the world alongside his twin sister, Breanna Rene. Together they brought double the joy to their mother, Candelaria Diaz, and father, Jason Richardson.

Alex was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. A recent graduate of KIPP Legacy High School’s first graduating Class of 2025, he was proud of his accomplishments and was just beginning to step into adulthood. He was working as a package handler at FedEx, saving toward his dream of buying his first car—a goal he was determined to reach.

A lover of music and meaningful moments, Alex found happiness in spending time with his family and friends. He also had a love for movies, often rewatching his favorites on a regular basis—finding comfort and joy in the stories he cherished. He lived a life full of energy and authenticity, known for his kindness, his spirit, and the way he could light up a room just by being present. Those who knew him will always remember his laughter, his individuality, and the genuine care he showed to others.

He was a devoted twin, sharing an unbreakable bond with his sister Breanna. He was protective of his siblings, Valencia and JuanRogelio. Alex was a guide to his little brother, and stepped into the role of man of the house with strength and love beyond his years.

Though his time on this earth was far too short, Alex’s impact was immeasurable. His life was filled with love, and his absence leaves an unbearable void. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his unwavering support for others, and the promise of a future that will never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jason Richardson. Great Grandfather Candelario Coronado, and Great Grandmother Rosario Coronado.

Alexzander leaves behind a family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts: his mother, Candelaria Diaz; his twin sister, Breanna Rene Richardson-Diaz; his siblings Valencia Diaz and JuanRogelio Espinoza-Diaz; his grandparents, Rosario Coronado (Anthony Castaneda) and Darrell Diaz; his aunt, Antonia Castaneda (Javier Arroyo); his uncle, Justice Diaz (Shellie Deihl); his cousins Josiah Diaz, Marlowe Arroyo, and Sienna Arroyo; and countless best friends and extended family.
