Francisco Contreras

October 6, 1959 — March 8, 2019

Francisco Contreras of Kansas City Missouri, passed away at the age of 59 on March 8, 2019 after a courageous battle with ALS ( Lou Gehrig's Disease). Francisco was born en El Derramadero, Guanajuato, Mexico to Jose Contreras and Ma Guadalupe Olmedo. He was such a family man and devoted his life to his three daughters and his four-legged best friend Bobo. They were his world. Later in life, was given the greatest joy of being an abuelito to Maximiliano & Elias. Francisco began working in the United States at an early age working in many trades and eventually dedicating himself to the construction industry. Francisco was such the craftsman. There wasn't something he didn't know how to fix or build. In his world, there was always something to do. He enjoyed gardening his peppers, taking his dog for car rides, checking in on his brothers, watching boxing, playing poker and loved to fish. Francisco will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving, caring, and inspirational person. He had a big heart and there wasn't a life he didn't touch. He wasn't Mr. Contreras if he wasn't giving a life hack, life lesson and you can't forget a mini lecture. He's survived by his daughters Nidia Damian, Cristina Contreras, and Angelica Contreras. His grandchildren Maximiliano Contreras and Elias Damian. His mother Ma Guadalupe Olmedo Escutia, His siblings Salvador Contreras, Celia Ruiz, Isabel Guzman, Delfina Contreras Olmedo, Rosa Contreras Olmedo, Maria Contreras Olmedo, Rafael Contreras, Cruz Contreras, Jose Contreras. He is proceeded in death by his father Jose Contreras, Ma De Jesus Contreras Olmedo. Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 15th, 2019 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO. at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Raytown, MO. Visitation will be Thursday, March 14th, 2019 at Larkin & Garcia Funeral Care in Kansas City, KS. from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
