Carlos Gonzalez, 17, was born in Salina, Kansas on August 8th, 2006 to his late mother Brandy Leigh Granados. Carlos was later adopted by his older sister, Maria Del Rosario Rodriguez and her husband Hector Saucedo.

Carlos was raised in Salina until he moved to Kansas City in early 2011. Carlos attended The Learning Club, Whittier Elementary School, and Central Middle School in his earlier years. He was currently a junior at J.C. Harmon High School.

Carlos had a passion for playing basketball and football, bringing his competitive spirit and love for sports to every game. Carlos was proud to be a Harmon Hawk football player this season. His coach and teammates remember Carlos because of his radiating positivity and encouragement throughout the football season. Carlos brought joy and warmth to all those around him with his kind heart and gentle spirit. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his bright smile and caring nature. May his soul rest in peace.

Carlos was preceded in death by his loving mother, Brandy Leigh Granados.

Carlos is survived by his siblings Maria, Erica, Luis, Jose, Marco Jr., Ariana, and Alex; step-father Marco Antonio Granados Sr; girlfriend Ricki Cole (Naynay); nieces Abigail, Lillyana, Julieta, Delaney, and his nephew Nelly.
